Coding Education IoT Robot Kit Packaging Design & Structural Engineering
Product
2020. 5. 5.
This project redesigned the packaging structure to reduce assembly confusion and safety risks in children’s coding education environments.
By organizing the packaging around part recognition flow and usage sequence, it establishes a reusable structural standard optimized for repeated use in classroom settings—ensuring clarity, safety, and consistency throughout the learning process.

LEARNING STARTS BEFORE ASSEMBLY
The moment children encounter a robot kit comes before they ever open an instruction manual.
Opening the box, taking out the parts, and feeling them in their hands—all of these moments are part of the learning experience.
This project began not with how to assemble, but with how understanding begins.
A STRUCTURE THAT TEACHES
An IoT robot kit combines electronic components, exterior parts, and mechanical frames into a single product.
As the number of parts increases, children are more likely to lose their sense of direction.
Sphere D reorganized the internal packaging structure around the actual assembly sequence.
Components were grouped by order of use, and their roles were made legible through color, shape, and placement alone. The goal was to create a flow where children could intuitively sense what comes next—even without referring to a manual.

DESIGNED FOR SAFETY AND REPETITION
Educational kits are not used once and discarded.
They must withstand repeated cycles of assembly and disassembly, without damaging parts or exposing children to safety risks.
Edge treatments, cushioning structures, and fixation methods were all reviewed with a child-centered use environment in mind.
Durability and structural stability were prioritized so the packaging itself could function as a storage system—safe, reusable, and reliable in classroom settings.
FROM BOX TO LEARNING SYSTEM
This packaging is not merely a container—it is part of the learning system.
From the moment the box is opened to the final step of reorganization, children learn to understand structure, follow sequences, and build problem-solving skills.
Through this project, Sphere D defined the usability standards and structural order an educational product should have—resulting in a coding education IoT robot kit designed for real-world learning environments, not just distribution.
